In an unexpected pivot, I decided to apply to MFA programs in the visual arts. When mentioning that I am going to graduate school at 70, people are excited and often imply that I am a “role model or inspiration.” While pleasant to hear, I am not convinced that is the case. What I do know is that I am living my life. I hope to continue to learn and grow until, well, I die.
