Jenny Mayfield Blackstone has been a portrait photographer specializing in women, girls, and dancers for over 18 years. Jenny studied art history at La Sorbonne in Paris and holds a BA from Smith College as well as a Master of Science from Georgetown University. She spent 14 years in Europe, opening studios in Frankfurt and Zürich before moving to Summit, NJ in 2022. She is a former photo editor for USA Today, as well as a producer at Population Services International, Weber Shandwick, and other agencies. She danced until she was 16 years old, and now has a daughter who is a gorgeous ballerina. Her work focuses on empowering young women, creating photos they love, and recognizing their talents and strengths.

Jenny’s overseas work focuses on issues that disproportionately affect women in developing countries. She has worked throughout Africa and Asia most recently in Madagascar to document a team of local women restoring rainforests. Her photograph of Ashley Judd in Soweto, South Africa was selected as the cover photo for Judd's memoir, "All that is Bitter & Sweet."

And now she will be focusing her expertise on a new, heartfelt project: a photography book for all of our amazing Co-Co members — one that highlights the incredible people who make up our community.

Jenny is developing a beautifully curated book that features portraits and personal profiles of members who want to be included. Her goal is to highlight the genuine, welcoming, and inspiring experiences she has witnessed within our community, while also shining a light on the powerful and diverse network we’ve all helped create.

This project is not only a celebration of The Co-Co spirit, but also a meaningful opportunity for members to promote themselves, share their stories, and deepen their connections within the community. By participating, you’ll have the chance to introduce yourself in a thoughtful, professional way that encourages others to learn about who you are, what you do, and how you’re making an impact.

Jenny has seen firsthand how warm, supportive, and inspiring this community is, and she’s passionate about capturing that spirit — and sharing it back with all of us. This project will serve as a powerful reflection of our collective energy, and a lasting way for members to connect, collaborate, and grow together.
