My career has never followed a straight line, and I’ve learned to trust that.
I started out as a musical theater kid, earning my BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Music with every intention of making singing my full-time life. Music, movement, and storytelling have always been connected for me, so staying physically strong while auditioning mattered. Teaching fitness began as something practical and unexpectedly became something I loved.
That path eventually led me to Pilates. It’s a practice that feels intelligent, adaptable, and deeply human.
In 2007, I opened my first Pilates studio in New Providence, New Jersey. Over the years, the work evolved alongside my own life. When the pandemic hit, like so many small businesses, we had to pivot. We closed our physical studio for about a year and continued working with our clients virtually while figuring out what the next chapter should look like.
When it was time to reopen, we found the right space in Summit, New Jersey, where the studio lives today. The throughline has always been curiosity, care, and paying attention to bodies, to people, and to what really matters.
These days, my role looks different than it once did. I lead more than I teach, and I spend a lot of time thinking about culture, experience, and how meaningful work gets built over time.
In a very full-circle way, I’ve also returned to singing. I’m currently performing cabaret with a jazz trio and producing a one-woman show scheduled for March 2026.
I’m a Jersey girl, married to a Jersey boy — my husband Rico — and we’re celebrating 30 years of marriage this year. Life, work, and creativity have all evolved over time, and I’m grateful for where the journey has led and curious about what’s still ahead.
At Pure Pilates, the focus is on helping people move better and feel more at home in their bodies, without turning movement into something they have to power through.
Our teachers work with clients who want strength and mobility that support real life: staying active as they age, recovering from injuries, managing stress, or simply feeling more confident day to day. We work primarily in private and small-group sessions, so everything is personalized, thoughtful, and able to evolve as life does.
What sets our studio apart is the care behind the work. Our team of experienced teachers values quality over quantity, pays attention to the details, and meets each client with curiosity and respect. The goal is movement that feels supportive, effective, and sustainable.
We also believe that how a studio feels matters just as much as what happens on the equipment. Calm, consistency, and genuine connection are part of the experience, whether someone is new to Pilates or has been practicing for years.
If you’re looking for movement that supports your life or a steady, thoughtful approach to staying strong over time, I am happy to connect with you.
I heard about The Co-Co through Betty Galvan, the Summit/Florham Park owner. I’ve also been working with Betty’s social company, My Friend Betty Says, for my business, so the introduction felt very natural.
At this stage of my career, I’m stepping back from teaching and spending more time focused on the business itself, specifically leadership, strategy, and what the next chapter looks like. I wanted to be part of a community where I could connect with other women who are building, growing, and evolving their businesses in real time.
After one coffee and conversation in Summit, The Co-Co feels like a space where those conversations can actually happen. It’s less about posturing and more about sharing ideas, learning from each other, and not feeling like you’re figuring everything out on your own.
For me, it’s about community, perspective, and being in the room with women who understand both the excitement and the complexity of running a business. That kind of connection matters more than ever at this point in my career.
